CORONAVIRUS UPDATE FOR ALL LEARNING FOUNDATION SCHOOLS.

March 30, 2020

Gov. Ducey and Superintendent Hoffman released a joint statement:

“In alignment with yesterday’s updated federal guidance, today we are announcing the extension of school closures through the remainder of the school year. Today’s announcement is intended to give parents and educators as much certainty as possible so they can plan and make decisions. While this isn’t the outcome any of us wanted, we are grateful for the partnership of schools around the state who have stepped up to offer virtual and take-home learning opportunities for our students. These efforts are crucial, and we recognize that schools are making every effort possible to continue providing instruction during closures”.

During the school closures Learning Foundation teachers and administrators are making every effort to provide our students with continuing instruction.

The health and well-being of our students and staff continues to be a top priority.  There have been no known cases of COVID-19 in our schools, but we will continue to pro-actively plan for all possible scenarios while our teachers are working to help students and parents with continued learning.

We are monitoring the Coronavirus, COVID19, situation and will continue to work directly with state and local public health officials to stay updated regarding health advisories and to take all cautionary measures. We ensure our parents and students that all Learning Foundation schools will be completely sanitized when school resumes and in addition to our existing health and safety protocols, we will implement the following procedures:

  • Ensure that students and staff who are ill, especially with respiratory symptoms, stay at home

  • Ensure routine cleaning and disinfecting is happening in all areas of the building even after the schools have been sanitized.

  • Ensure that hand sanitizer, soap, paper towels, and facial tissues are widely available in school facilities

  • Remind students and staff to cover their coughs and sneezes with a facial tissue or elbow (not in hands)

  • Place signage and reminders for personal hygiene throughout the school for students and staff
